  • This is also the site for the Obel Tower, construction of which got underway in early 2007. Costing £50m and measuring 80.5 metres (265ft) in height, the tower is set to dominate the Belfast skyline. It will overtake the current tallest skyscraper on the island of Ireland, Windsor House, also in Belfast. However a taller skyscraper called U2 Tower which is to be built in Dublin was given planning permission in July 2006. Developed by the Laganside Corporation, the Obel Tower is located on Donegall Quay beside the Lagan Weir. All the 182 apartments in the complex were reserved within 48 hours of the construction beginning. Link - http://obel.co.uk/
