Long the home of the Standard Forgings Company, the property now houses a number of warehouse uses. Organized in 1903, Standard Forgings erected a factory at 3444 Dickey Road and by June of the following year commenced production of iron axles for railway cars. Later expanding to include tractor, automobile and other forgings in addition to railway forgings, by 1941 the facility employed 539 workers. A strike in 1989 and a changing business climate led to the plant being closed down in that year.

The property was later utilized as storage space for BP and Buckmaster Steel amongst other firms until 2015 when it was purchased by Chrome LLC. Chrome established East Chicago 3600 Business Park and built a new 120,000 sq. ft. warehouse on the northern part of the property in 2021. The new warehouse and the older building constructed in 1965 are leased to a number of different tenants.
