  • A great school......which used to be strict (for good things :) ) It inculcated many values in me, such as respecting the elders, class teachers. I am an engineer now and placed in cognizant.....I won't forget you holy redeemer... Some tips to improve holy redeemer :) 1.Make alumni's to interact with the students so that the bright minds in this school can know about what the world is all about and prepare themselves to compete.Which usually happens in my college (mepco) ) 2.We know the teachers in this school are so dedicated there is no doubt in this... But there is something missing....you people need to sharpen your saw frequently.. 3.Make arrangements (tours ) to some industries..not just theme parks and palaces 4.we know IT is booming, we need to tap the potential, please make your children to speak a good english, atleast make the students to come forward in the english period and ask them to speak... (instead of asking them to mug-up the essays and poems ) Comments and criticism's are always welcome contact me: sagarun[at]gmail[dot]com

  • Well, when I started Grade 6 in HRHS (1962), most of the classes were held in thatched roof rooms and some under Tamarind tree. But then HRHS was one of the top performers in the District. The greatest dedication of the School management (Late Rev Father Cornelius Fernando) was the night schools from 6 to 8 pm under the supervision of Teachers. It was a visionary idea to ensure the rural students get a better learning environment away from their homes when there was no electricity in most part of the village. Electricity was supplied to Thisaiyanvialai around 1957-58. The greatest emphasis was on english Grammar. Thanks to Mr Antony Doss, our english teacher. All the teachers were gems and we all owe our current status to HRHS and its dedicated staff and management. After travelling around India and in all continents of the world, I am very proud of the english taught by HRHS. In Australia, where I live now, many people do not use proper grammar and one can pointout many grammar mistakes committed by englishmen! A collegue of mine, who is Englishman told me an interesting story about Indian english. He travelled in train between Ahmedabad and Delhi and one of his co-passenger was an Indian English Teacher. After an hour of discussions, the Indian Teacher asked the Englishman..are you really an Englishman? My friend told yes 100%. The Indian teacher immediately told him that his grammar was so horrible and he cannot pass the english test in India! My friend admired the quality of english grammar taught in India. I told my friend that had he studied in HRHS, then he might have recieved lot of punishment from my English teacher too! With gratitude and Greetings Dr C. Kannapiran Australia .
