Originally Park Farm, this was the site of the homestead of Col. John Prince, built in 1833.He would sell the property when he moved to Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario in 1860. It would later become the Essex Golf and Country Club until 1930. After that point, it would pass into the hands of The Sisters of the Good Shepherd at Maryvale Vocational School, used as the nuns' residence.
The square-ish home (located at the corner of Strathmore and Millen Streets (roughly in the exact middle of the property) would have several additions over the decades. It would be torn down in 1966 in anticipation of Maryvale expanding to its present size.
