archaeological site, tell (mound)
An ancient habitation mound next to a bridge crossing over the Murat Su, west of Genç. It is tentatively identified with the Urartian fortress of Šebeteria, although that is more commonly located at Palu, where an Urartian inscription made mention of that toponym. The eastern side of the once more substantial mound is eroded by the river current.
