The trail along the west side was a former extension of Fairmont Avenue, that's frequently used by dirt bikers, and a dumping ground for abandoned vehicles. I know of an old Jeep Gladiatior pickup that was trashed there years ago(I saw it in the 1980's), and I doubt that anybody has made any effort to clean it up.
