ROMAG-PROD, a branch of the Autonomous Nuclear Activities Authority, is located about 7 km Northeast of Drobeta-Turnu Severin on the national road DN 67, linking the cities of Drobeta-Turnu Severin and Targu-Jiu.

ROMAG PROD is a branch of the Autonomous Regime for Nuclear Activities, located about 7 km north-east of the city of Drobeta-Turnu Severin. It produces high-quality nuclear water with the highest capacity in the world (360 tons / year). The heavy water plant construction project was applied in Drobeta-Turnu Severin between 1980 and 1988. Heavy water production began in July 1988. Romania is the only European country to have developed a CANDU-type nuclear reactor.

It also produces heavy water, super-heavy water and supergrid water.
With an annual production of about 180 tons and an expansion capacity of up to 360 tons, the Nordine plant "feeds" both the Cernavoda plant and many international markets. The plant has four production modules with a capacity of 90 tonnes per year, each.

Since 2001, ROMAG PROD branch has become a heavy-water exporter of nuclear power in South Korea, China, Germany, the US and Switzerland.
In 2005, ROMAG-PROD stretched over an area of 70 hectares and numbered 1,500 employees, a large number of staff being specialized in the workplace, with no other qualification.
The ROMAG-PROD Branch is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.
