Now part of Newcastle College, the former Whickham View Schools on Muscott Grove in Whickham, were built in 1936-1938. The 'Art Deco' style schools (originally separate boys and girs schools) were built by F. W. Harvey, Building Surveyor to City of Newcastle Education Committee. It is now called the John Marley Centre. The former school buildings are Grade II listed.
