Chenoy Trade Centre (CTC) in Parklane, Secunderabad, is no less a cyber gateway.

With over 200 computer shops inside the multi-storeyed building (right from the cellar to the top floor), the building qualifies as the single-largest trading centre in computers in the twin cities.

Enter CTC and a whole world of bits and bytes open up before you, where shopkeepers speak the digital lingo of megahertz, gigabytes, tetra hertz and terabytes, and use the same to explain the speed of RAM, microprocessor, or the functionality of a CD-ROM or a motherboard.

Friendly shop assistants take over now, and suggest mix-n-match to the interested buyer so that the final output of the computer is maximum and fast.

"All of us here deal only in assembled computers that can be customised as per the requirements and budget of the customer," says Jaswinder Singh Randhawa of Compu-point.
The computer bazaar existed in the area even before Babu had envisioned the IT revolution for Hyderabad, says Manuwant Jethwa of Datamatrix.
Some of the popular shops in the area are Mahalaxmi computers, Systron, Taluka computers, Kompuserve, Computer Collection, Nisha computers, Ganapati computers, Datamation and Computer Bazaar, among others.
"We undertake computer repair and upgradation works, and usually offer six-month warranty on damages to parts of those systems sold from here. Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) is also offered by some of the stores," says Abdul Gaffar of Computer Bazaar.
CDs, digital speakers and diaries, sub-woofers, printer cartridges, head-cleaners, earphones, and speakerphones, along with special fibre-optic cables among other accessories, are all sold here.
