This bridge carries Interstate 77 over the New River, U.S. Route 52 (Fort Chiswell Road), and the New River Trail. The Jackson Ferry Shot Tower is visible just to the southeast of the bridge. It is an eight span, steel beam bridge with concrete deck. The northbound bridge was built in 1978, the southbound bridge was built in 1980, and the two bridges were reconstructed, widened, and integrated in 2006. There is no direct connection between Interstate 77 and U.S. Route 52 at this location.
