Built in 1895 and operational in 1896 as a stop on the LVRR Rochester Junction-Hemlock branch. The station became the terminus of the branch in 1899 after trackage to Hemlock Lake was closed down and thereafter became a busy destination for tourists and residents visiting summer homes in the area. The station also housed freight agents supporting the adjacent Hemlock Canning factory, grain merchants and coal dealers. After passenger service ceased in 1938 the depot continued to serve local freight movements until the line was closed down by LVRR in 1968, with the rails coming up and station coming down shortly after.
