Generations of movie stars such as Humphrey Bogart, Frank Sinatra, Jerry Lewis and Clark Gable have eaten meals at the Cafe since it was opened in 1934. Legend has it Elvis tipped a waitress with a Cadillac. Closed 2017, and attempts to re-open were disastrous. In 2019, it was restored faithfully with its kitschy (some would say tacky) decor intact.
