Manjinikkara Dayara (Syriac for "monastery") is a Syriac Orthodox Church where the tomb of Patriarch Mor Ignatius Elias III is located. In 1932, Mor Ignatius Elias III was invited by Lord Irwin, the British Viceroy to India, to heal the rift in the Malankara Church. Despite health issues, the Patriarch agreed to visit. He stayed at Manjinikkara Dayara, where he later died and was buried. His tomb in now a famous pilgrimage site.
