Formerly called Braxted Lodge, is a country house in the Queen Anne style set in a landscaped 2,000 acre park. The property has a long history of being owned by various influential nobles, merchant and businessman families of local and all-British level. The existing land and buildings in current state are mainly the legacy of Darcy and Du Cane families ownership of the estate. As far as know from public data, the descendants of Sir Allen George Clark and his son, John Allen Clark, long-term charmains of The Plessey Company, who owned the property in 1947, remain the owners of the estate.
