Former site of a sizeable yard on the Milwaukee Road railroad, the majority of grain being transported to or through the Twin Cities by the Milwaukee Road was handled here. Though the yard was ripped up after the final bankruptcy and dissolution of the MILW in 1986, the former mainline was purchased for preservation by the Hennepin County Regional Rail Authority and has been operated by shortline Twin Cities & Western since 1991.
