Mine that dates back to the 19th century, when under the direction of the engineer Vinasco Baglioni, mainly with manual techniques, the first tunnels were dug in the area of ​​Mount Sceré. In the twentieth century, with the company "Mines de Costano SA" (1933) an industrial process was started by expanding the various already existing tunnels and building the plants for the treatment of minerals in the locality of Lolina. The works were suspended during the Second World War, with the resumption of cultivation at the end of the war, the works had a limited duration and in 1952 the activities were permanently suspended. Thus the mine remained abandoned until 2015, when thanks to a recovery project, the mine began to be enhanced for tourist, educational and cultural purposes, mediated the works relating to the arrangement and recovery of the mine itself and on the other, the redevelopment of the mine. external area with the recovery of a rustic for the reception of visitors. From 29 April 2018, the day of its inauguration, it is possible to visit the mine, including the 375-meter-long Leonilde gallery, from which other secondary galleries open onto shafts and where you can see machinery that was used to extract the material. Tunnel which was a part of the underground labyrinth that the miners had dug for more than two kilometers of tunnels arranged over five levels. As for the external sector, the old compressor room has been transformed into a welcoming place for guests, in the upper part a small thematic exhibition, created in collaboration with the Sessa Mine Museum, offers information regarding the various phases history of mining and metalworking.
