  • Corregidor Island is a bastion developed by the spaniards as a checkpoint of vessels entering Manila. It was furtherly develop during the American period by Burnham, the same developer of Baguio City. It formerly houses three barrios, has its own movie house, a mile long barracks for american soldiers and a series of fortifies defences. Today it remains as a top tourist spot. The site was the last stronghold of Gen. Douglas McArthur and former President Manuel L. Quezon along with Vice-President Sergio Osmeña and their families.
