  • I lived in this town for more than 30 years now and I witness its glory days and the its fall. Mariveles a quiet tiny town then when the birth of the first processing zone in the country become its location. Strategically it lies on the mouth of the Manila Bay. Every infracture needed was proposed in order to attract foreign envestor such as Pier, Airport & Road. It reached its peak of progress in the early eighties where some multinational companies put up their plant in the zone. Some of which are: Ford Phils, Ricoh Watch, Mattel Phils, Dunlop Slazenger, Essilor Optical and many more. It started its fall in the mid-80s where almost 50% of enterprises left the zone one company to another. This also the period where unionism dominates the zone. At present this is the least progressive zone in the country.
  • I wonder if this is the place which was called Blue Beach during teh landing of WWII
