Former site of the US Produce Exchange which was located on east side of Broadway in Bowling Green. Built in 1884 by George B Post, who would go on to design the NY Stock Exchange the same year this photo was taken, it was the first building in the world to combine wrought iron and masonry in its structural construction. The interior was arcaded, inspired by Florentine designs, while the outside was fire red brick.
It was demolished in 1957 to build 2 Broadway.
