  • This is whats left of the orchards in Walnut Creek. The Last free standing walnut orchard in the city. They bulldozed everything else for houses, Infill development, Parks(like this one) and unnecessary libraries.
  • freaknpizzed!: Consider that walnut orchards themselves were a form of development, not a natural part of the landscape. The root problem is endless population growth and the robotic accommodation of it as a form of progress. Still, Walnut Creek has done a good job of preserving open space (mostly in the hills) vs. other suburban cities.
