mill, EPA superfund, historic ruins

Processed ore from the Gold Star Mine until 1993 due to declining gold prices. The site was then inherited by the National Park Service in 1994 when the Mojave National Preserve was formed. Although popular with graffiti artists, this is a superfund site due to cyanide used in the leaching process.
