Gush Katif, (hebrew for "Harvest Bloc"), the section of the Gaza Strip comprised of 16 of the 21 Jewish communities in the district built after 1967.
Following the Oslo Agreement, 60 percent of Gaza was given to the Palestinian Authority; with the remainder under full Israeli control, delineated within the Gush Katif borders. In August 2005, the Gush Katif communities were forcefully evacuated and demolished by the Israeli government. The land is now under the control of Hamas.
