Designed c. 1935 in the Colonial Revival style by Henry W. Johanson of Roslyn for Val A. Schmitz at a cost of $13,000. Schmitz was a banker affiliated with the National City Bank of New York. The home was featured in "The Architectural Forum for November of 1937 and later appeared in The American Builder "Buyer-Approved Homes of Known Cost" in the 1940's.
The front porch has recently been altered from its original Asian pagoda style to a traditional one.
