  • This is one of Marikina's cleanest, greenest and biggest private subdivisions with its own secured entry gate. The subdivision roads are wide,well-lighted, and lined with tall trees. It is very peaceful and a nice place to jog in the morning, particularly along Riverside Drive which is along the subdivision's perimeter bordering the Marikina River. Near the gate, along St.Mary Avenue, there's a commercial strip with a mini-mart/grocery, bakery, flea mini-market, foodshops, clinics, variety stores, barber shop, salon, school supplies stores, internet shop, car washing station, etc. It's a complete community. The security is moderately tight, and vehicles entering the subdivision are required to give an identification card to the guard. No beggars, street or ambulant vendors are allowed inside. The barangay tanods of Tanong patrol the area regularly to ensure peace and order. The subdivision is very near the police station so police response in the area during emergency situations is quite fast. The subdivision is actually divided into three smaller villages: Saint Joseph, Holy Family and San Isidro. The lots in the subdivision are quite big (around 300 sq.m.)and the houses are also grand in scale. In terms of accessibility, Provident Villages is very near the Aurora Boulevard/EDSA convergence point and therefore an ideal residence to those working in the city center as it is only less than an hour drive to Makati and Ortigas. It is also very near the Riverbanks Center, which is the premier retail center in downtown Marikina, near schools, the public market which is the largest and cleanest in all of Metro Manila, and close even to the main transportation artery like the Light Rail Station (LRT-2) which makes it accessible in minutes anywhere from the Metropolitan Manila area. The entry gate also empties onto the main road leading to the heart of the Marikina Town proper which makes Provident Villages unmatched in terms of proximity to all that matters in city living. Overall, this subdivision is one of the most ideal residential havens in Marikina, and living here is having the best of city living in a laidback, country-like setting.
  • This village is absolutely wonderful!(of course..I live here!)
  • the place i grew up in. theres no place like home. shiiet!
  • Date: 092609 The place is flooded until now because of the storm 'Ondoy'. People are staying in their roofs waiting to be rescued. Most of the houses here have more than 1 floor, so you can imagine how deep the flood is.
  • 58 were reported dead here
  • Too bad about Provident Vill. Other places were also affected, so theirs is not an isolated case.
