The Namhae Exhibition Hall for Dispatch to Germany was founded to give thanks to, and honor 7,936 miners and 11,057 nurses who left their beloved families for the faraway land of Germany. In the 1960s and 1970s, both Korea and her citizens were poor so these citizens sent back their hard-earned wages to rebuild the country and the Korean economy.
