Sowpadu is a small village near vatti cherukuru. The diverse population of major religions (hindu, muslim, and christian) and the major castes get along well with one another.

During the later half of 20th century, there was a yogini, alivelu mangamma, who had an ashram there. Recently, there is a mounananda swamy who lived there. The place is also made famous in vignettes written by Ramarao Kanneganti (www.kanneganti.com) in the internet telugu forums. At this point, you should be guessing who wrote this description :-).
