SaiBaba Temple (Narpad)

India / Maharashtra / Dahanu / Narpad

The Saibaba Temple at Narpad having a life size statue of Saibaba. To get here you must get down at Dahanu Railway station (on the Western Railway line, the almost midpoint of Mumbai and Surat). The auto - walla should charge you about Rs. 100 for the trip from the railway station to the temple and back with abt 15-20 mins halt at the temple.

The significance of this temple is that Saibaba is supposed to have rested himself at this site.
Though there is not much to do around here, the temple itself attracts a lot of people from the town every week on Thursday (thats the baba's day) T
There is something akin to a carnival (mela/jatra) at the temple every year around April (in the month of Chaitra on the Ram Navmi) where the main offering is the sweet potato. A lot of the tribals alongwith the local town people visit the temple on this particular day.

A special note of interest here is that Saibaba is a 'divine saint' in whom both the Hindus AND the Muslims and all the other religions believe without exception.
