Karakin Wind Farm is located in Western Australia, about 12 km east from Lancelin, which is 120 km north of downtown Perth. Completed in 2013, it consists of 10 Enercon E40/500 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 5 MW.
All 10 turbines were sourced from the San Giorgio La Molara wind farm in the province of Benevento, Italy, and refurbished, as were the 10 turbines at West Hills wind farm (about 15 km to the north). The wind farm supplies power to local horticulturalists over a private 33kV distribution network with the balance of electricity generated going into the SWIS grid.
