The top of the Devil's Jump-Off is at an elevation of about 2,600 feet (867 m). From the highest point there is a very steep drop of about 1,000 feet (333 m). During heavier rains waterfalls can be seen here, but there is no assurance of reaching the remote area. This topography is seen in other nearby places like Mildred Falls, Cedar Creek Falls, and others in the San Diego River canyon.
