St. Twrogg's Island is located in the Severn estuary a mere 1/2 mile south of the M48 Severn Bridge joining Wales and England. It has in the past been known as Chapel Island, and in fact there are partial remains of a probably medieval chapel on the island

Note that the drawn outline is only the part that is typically above the high-tide mark. At low tide the island is larger but still not readily accessible because of its location amid dangerous surroundings.
