August Kitzberg (until August 1863, August Kitts), one of the founders of Estonian dramaturgy, was born on December 29, 1855 in the family of a farm laborer in the bowery of Puldre in Laatra volost, Hayliste parish. The place of birth is indicated by a memorial stone installed by Jaan Womm in 1974.
