Originally used year-round as a ranger station with primarily office space, this complex is now only used as seasonal housing for forest service staff. The complex was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), a New Deal program that operated between 1933 and 1942. The program provided work for unmarried, unemployed men who were struggling to find work during the Great Depression.
