Harrison Gulch was a former gold mining settlement located west of Platina. The camp started as Goldsboro until 1896, when it renamed Harrison Gulch after Judge Harrison, the first judge of Shasta County. The town was the mining town for the Midas Gold Mine, which operated from 1894 to 1914. The mine closed after a devastating fire in 1914. The town burned in 1910. Nowadays, the town is the site of a U.S. Forest Service base.
