Medieval monastery (romanesque style). It was an important cultural center during the high Middle Ages (10th-12h c.) because of its proximity to the Islamic world (al-Andalus). Burials of the first Catalan independent sovereigns (the counts of Barcelona of 9th-12th c.). Destroyed by fire during liberal revolutions (1835), and reconstructed at the end of 19th c. in neomedievalist style. The great monumental sculpturated door and the wonderful cloister are originals.
