Kosalar (Armenian: Քոսալար, Azerbaijani: Kosalar also, Kesalar and Kyosalar) is a village in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the administrative-territorial division of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, which actually controls the village, it is located in the Askeran region of the NKR. According to the administrative-territorial division of the Republic of Azerbaijan, - in the Khojaly region of Azerbaijan. During the Soviet period, 2,500 people lived in the village, mostly Azerbaijanis. On May 10, 1992, the village came under the control of the Defense Army of the Republic of Artsakh, the Azerbaijani population left it and dispersed to different regions of Azerbaijan. After the second Karabakh war, the village remained under the control of the unrecognized Republic of Artsakh and the Peacekeeping Contingent of the Russian Federation.
