Alyakchi

Alyakchi, a village in Eastern Armenia, in the province of Elizavetpol, Elizavetpol province. It is located 33.5 km south-west of Shushi, in a high place, on the left bank of the Hagari River. The village was surrounded by forests. According to Alishan, Alyakchi is the old village of Hayeliak or Halaks. A similar settlement is also found in the dictionary of toponyms of Armenia and the surrounding regions. According to the dictionary, Halax is a village in Syunik and is mentioned in the new tax list of Tati Monastery as a Mirror (in Aghahejk province of Syunik world of Greater Armenia). According to the old tax list, the Tati monastery was given 6 points (drams) in taxes. Corresponds to the modern-day village of Halak, in the province of Zangezur in the province of Eligavepoli.
