Goalin Khand is named after a milk woman who watered Emperor Sher Shah when he was wondering for water to quench thirst on returning from Dakra Nala near Munger after defeating Humayun. He was very much pleased with her and asked her what he can do for her. She replied that people have to cross the hill in going to Sheikhpura market to sell their produce and therefore the hill be cut and a road be built. Sher Shah at once ordered his soldiers to fulfill her demand. This was done.Sher Shah liked this place too much as it was here that his courtiers addressed him as emperor and he named the place as Goalin Khand. This khand is situated nearly 500 meters (north east) off Ramadheen College.
The greedy person has widened the road now to carry out his business. The ASI must protect this historical place.
