The twin-arm Mark 26 Guided Missile Launching System at Barking Sands is an active surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missile launch platform which was formerly in use on US Navy vessels of the Virginia, Kidd and early Ticonderoga Classes. Though no longer in active use aboard fleet vessels, the land-based launcher is still capable of deploying the RIM-66 and RIM-67A Standard medium and long range surface-to-air missiles into the PMRF for tracking, intercept and countermeasure exercises.
