The twin-arm Mark 7 Missile Launcher at Barking Sands was used to conduct missile tracking, intercept and countermeasure training utilizing the MQM-8G Vandal surface-to-surface missile, the final evolution of the RIM-8 Talos surface-to-air missile. The launcher operated in the Vandal program through 2008 when the inventory of missiles was exhausted.
