Pacifico Flour Mill (Ensenada)

Mexico / Baja California / Ensenada
historical layer / disappeared object, flour mill

Built about 1905-1906 to process wheat grown by immigrants from Russia (not all were "Russians") who settled in the Guadalupe Valley. At the time, this location was outside Ensenada city limits on the road from Guadalupe Valley. The immigrants were invited by the Mexican government as foreign investors, but they had little cash. They paid for their land in wheat payments credited at 1 cent per pound. Much more history at molokane.org/places/Mexico
