Site of the medieval town of Montecorvino, the seat of a bishopric from 1059. The visible remains today are the ruins of the cathedral to the east, and of the castle to the west. The towns of Pietramontecorvino to the northwest and Motta Montecorvino to the southwest preserve the name of the former city.
