Follow the "Causeway" across the River Thames north from Cricklade, and on the left you find this large hay meadow. It is managed following historic hay-cutting patterns which help preserve the wild flower populations - especially the Snake's-head fritillary, which flowers in spectacular numbers here from mid-April to early-May.
