  pampady kalachanda is the central area of pampady town.a divertion of meenadom also. from kalchanda junction we can go to pampady valiyapalli and sivadharsana temple manjadi.

  The name kalachanda is from Kaala(കാള)chanda(ചന്ത).15,16&17 of every malayalam month there was chanda and animals like cow,ox,buffala,goat were brought here for sale and even for exchange.Third day ,i.e.on 17th ,was maily for bullock carts and bullocks. Inaddition to this there were sale of chicken, agricultural tools,and aution of old umbrella.It was very interesting.Exact location of of the market is between kalachanda jn and pamapady pally,about 150-200 meters from NH220.
