Residence designed c. 1915 by Palmer & Hornbostel for Arthur Smith Dwight {industrialist}. Dwight served as president and founder of Dwight & Lloyd Metallurgical Co. and Dwight & Lloyd Sintering Co as well as president of Tirrill Gas Machine Co. He also served as director of American Ore Reclamation Co. and Colorado Mines Exploring Co. Additionally, he served as a trustee of Columbia University, was a member of the War Memorial Committee to American Engineers of WWI, and was one of the original officers of the North Hempstead County Club in 1916.
