Upper Kachura Lake (Skardu)

Located 8200 feet above the sea level amidst the picturesque Skardu town the Kachura Lake is truly one of the popular destinations of Pakistan. A rare beauty on the face of the earth the Kachura Lakes are divided into two distinct parts-The Upper Kachura Lake and the Lower Kachura Lake . While the upper part is not much explored and very rarely visited by tourists mainly owing to its surrounding terrain the Lower Kachura Lake is more widely known as the Shangrila Lake inviting a heavy footfall every year.

The beauty of the Upper Kachura Lake is awesome and keeps one spellbound. However due to lack of infrastructure owing to its rough terrain this pristine place is almost untampered and mostly unexplored by travelers. However this part is full of a rich flora and famous for its wild apricot gardens. One can take a god hike in and around this place and also enjoy the azure waters of the Lake.
