The London Velodrome is part of the London Velopark located at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford in the London Borough of Newham. It was constructed from 2009 to 2011 at a cost of £105,000,000. It has an all-seater capacity of 6,000 in two tiers of seating. it will host the track cycling events of the 2012 Summer Olympics and the track cycling events of the 2012 Summer Paralympics.
The velodrome was designed by Hopkins Architects. The 250 m track is made of Siberian pine. The exterior facade is made of Western red cedar timber. The roof is made out of steel.
