Sacalaz village is situated in Timis, at a distance of 10 km in the west of the city of Timisoara and spread over the surface of a 136.1 km2. The relief is plain. Timis is the most important river of water, and the municipality Sacalaz, cross river waters Beregsău Great and Niarad.

In 1765 the first German settlers arriving in Sacalaz. In 1767 the 60 Romanian families are displaced from Torac (Yugoslavia), where the foundations of a new settlement. In turn Beregsău Small village was colonized by the Serbians. Beregsău Great was exempt from all waves of colonization and repopulation.
