The ancient and medieval town of Pedachthoe, also known as Herakleiopolis, was located on the southwestern slopes of Mount Yıldız, to the northwest of the village of Yıldız and to the southeast of the village of Sarıyar. It was the seat of a Christian bishopric. Some faint remains may be detected in the satellite image of the area.
