Designed by Norman W. Alpaugh and built as The Town House in 1929. Later sold to the Sheraton Corporation, it operated for much of its life as the Sheraton-Town House.

It is featured extensively in the 1987 "Moonlighting" episode "Blonde on Blonde", in which David trails Maddie into the hotel and spies on her.

Converted to low-income apartments in the 1990's as the area declined.
