Angels Gate Park, formerly the Upper Reservation of Fort MacArthur. Home to the Angels Gate Cultural Center, the Marine Mammal Care Center, the Oiled Bird Rescue Center and the Marine Exchange.

Set apart from public domain in 1888. Post established in 1908 on the "Lower Reservation," site of the Cabrillo Marina today. "Upper Reservation" purchased that same year for construction of the coast defense batteries of the Coast Defenses of Los Angeles. Designated in honor of Lt. Gen. Arthur MacArthur on 10 January 1914.

Formerly home to the Headquarters, Harbor Defenses of Los Angeles from 1919 to 1941, the 3rd Coast Artillery Regiment from 1924 to 1941, the 2nd, 3rd, and 7th Companies, Coast Defenses of Los Angeles from 1919 to 1922, the 27th, 38th, and 158th Coast Artillery Companies from 1922 to 1924, the 3rd Coast Artillery, less 2nd and 3rd Battalions, and the 63rd Coast Artillery from 1930 to 1941.
